The Gift: The Joy of the King

Matthew 2: 10-11 (NIV) – 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Anything I cling to eventually steals the joy I’m trying to find.

Joy comes when we release our treasure in exchange for something greater.

Joy leads to surrender — and surrender leads to worship.

Jesus doesn’t want your treasure, He wants your heart.

The joy you’re looking for isn’t in what you’re holding – it’s in who’s holding you.
